Trabalho Digno
Trabalho digno é a oportunidade de realizar um trabalho produtivo e com rendimento justo, com segurança e proteção social, com perspectivas de desenvolvimento pessoal e integração social, com liberdade para as pessoas expressarem as suas preocupações e participarem nas decisões que afetam as suas vidas e com igualdade de oportunidades e tratamento para todos. De forma simples, trata-se de um trabalho que permite a uma pessoa usufruir de qualidade de vida.
Enquanto conceito e prioridade de agenda foi introduzido, e inicialmente promovido pela Organização Internacional do Trabalho, em 1990 e consiste em quatro componentes: emprego, direitos, proteção e diálogo. O Trabalho Digno baseia-se na premissa de que todas as quatro componentes são necessárias para criar as melhores perspectivas de progresso social e de desenvolvimento.
O direito ao trabalho é um direito humano, sendo referido como um direito social e económico.
O trabalho é essencial para que as pessoas possam ter uma vida digna, pois fornece não só o nosso sustento, como também contribui para o desenvolvimento individual, fortalecendo as comunidades e a sociedade em geral. No entanto, nem todo o trabalho contribui de forma positiva – só o trabalho digno pode manter a vida com dignidade.
Quase metade da população mundial vive em pobreza, e ter emprego não é garante de sair de uma situação de pobreza. As pessoas pobres, como consequência da limitação das oportunidades de trabalho, aceitam muitas vezes salários baixos, empregos temporários e sem documentos e condições inseguras e insalubres. São mais vulneráveis a maus-tratos e a assédio e têm menos oportunidades de solicitar indemnização do que outras pessoas. Muitas delas estão presas a um trabalho perigoso e ilegal, tal como o trabalho sexual, o trabalho infantil, o trabalho forçado e outras práticas análogas à escravidão.
O crescimento económico sustentado, isto é respeitando os limites do planeta, é importante para todos, mas o progresso financeiro deve criar empregos dignos e satisfatórios, sem prejudicar as pessoas e o meio ambiente. É imperativo acabar com a escravidão moderna e o trabalho infantil.
O trabalho digno tem três dimensões de direitos: o direito ao trabalho, os direitos no trabalho e o direito de proteção social adequada.

O trabalho digno permite ter dinheiro para comprar comida, ter uma casa para viver, ter cuidados de saúde, poder comprar medicamentos ou roupas que permitam viver com dignidade. Para que o trabalho seja digno o dinheiro que as pessoas recebem deve ser justo e adequado ao trabalho que fazem. Quem faz o mesmo trabalho deve receber o mesmo dinheiro. Também é importante que as pessoas tenham condições de segurança no trabalho e que não tenham que pôr a sua saúde ou a sua vida em risco.
As pessoas devem ainda ter apoios sociais em caso de necessidade, como ficar doente ou sem trabalho. No trabalho digno as pessoas devem ter direito a aprender, a dar a sua opinião, a ser tratadas de forma justa e igual entre todos os trabalhadores e a ter liberdade e igualdade de oportunidades.

• Consome de forma consciente, procura saber de onde vem aquilo que compras. Evita marcas/empresas que são denunciadas por promover trabalho indigno.
• Compra de produtores locais: permite apoiares o crescimento local, mas também compreender melhor as condições de trabalho de quem produz o que consomes.
• Conhece os teus direitos no trabalho. Para ter acesso à justiça, é importante que percebas os teus direitos e deveres.
